The original FlatOut, and to a lesser extent its sequel were pretty fantastic racing affairs. The destruction elements grabbed me more than anything, but after the original team left the game behind things were never the same.
So when FlatOut 4: Total Insanity was announced I was, and still am, a bit skeptical. The gameplay trailer shows off some of the action and a bit more of the new modes available in FlatOut 4. With a detailed and expansive damage system, vehicles deform and explode in real-time with each smash and crash. We only hope the physics engine is as capable as the first two games in the series.
The legendary stunt mode is also back – Whether you have the gentle soul of a golfer or the destructive desire to demolish all opponents, you will find your jam in FlatOut 4.
FlatOut 4: Total Insanity crashes onto PS4 and Xbox One on March 17, 2017.
