There have been a number of teaser looks at the upcoming Disney remake of Pete’s Dragon, but all have been pretty light on, you know, the dragon bit. Entertainment Weekly has come to the rescue by revealing the first compete look at the dragon; and he’s a furry one indeed.
Pete’s Dragon holds a special place in my heart as one of the first Disney properties I can remember from a kid. More so for the soundtrack as the record always seemed to be on the player in my fathers office. This new version of the character hasn’t won me over yet, as he looks more like a fuzzy tiger (some point to the eerie resemblance to He-Man’s Cringer) instead of a dragon.
Sure, the original was a cartoon dragon that was all sorts of silly, but at least he looked like a dragon. Check out the photo and see for yourself:
