Okay, before all you Final Fantasy VII fans lose your collective minds, this isn’t what you think. For years fans have been clamoring for an HD remake of their beloved entry in the long running Final Fantasy series. Excitement grew when we saw demo footage during the PS3 era, but found it was only a tech demo to show of the systems capabilities.
Well, Sony have done it again announcing that Final Fantasy VII is coming to the PS4 in a sort of HD manner. Instead of going all out, Square Enix seems content to suck ever last dollar from FFVII fans by releasing this PC port of the game to PS4. That’s right, all this is is the Steam version of the game that came out a few years ago. Trouble is, since this is a console, the ability to mod the game and add new skins and visual upgrades that made the PC version so cool will most likely be gone.
Personally, I think FFVII is an overrated title that doesn’t hold up as well today as many people think it does. This may be the reason Square Enix refuses to create the remake that fans have been demanding for years. Who really knows what the real story is, but I can assure you fans will once again shell out money for this version. You can check out the announcement trailer below:
