Fall Guys Going Free-To-Play Coinciding With Xbox One And Switch Releases

Fall Guys

See you next Fall (Guy).

Fall Guys experienced a massive explosion of popularity back when it launched. And that was despite the fact that the only platforms it was available on being PC and PlayStation 4.

Part of the planed celebration for the upcoming launch of the Xbox, Epic Game Store and Switch versions of the game, however, is that everyone will be able to play. Fall Guys is going free-to-play alongside the launch of these versions. Originally, the Xbox One and Switch versions were planned to release in Summer of 2021. But, like many things this decade, that release date slid several months into the future.

But free-to-play isn’t all they have in store. Anyone that previously purchased the game gets a Legacy Pack which includes a number of cosmetics, as well as providing the paid battle pass for the upcoming season for free, alongside the free battle pass everybody else is getting. Most important;y, however, they’re resetting the season to 1, so that any newcomers aren’t left out. They’re also introducing a new currency: Show Bucks. They can be used to purchase the battle pass, presumably among other things. There’s currently no scale to measure them by just yet, though, so there’s no telling how it stacks up to the currently in-game Kudos.
