This election season has been rough, but it seems its been so rough that Facebook thinks most of humanity has died off. If you head over to your Facebook right now, there is a chance that the social network thinks you are dead.
But it’s not just you, but the network thinks everyone that uses the service has died. Yes, this even includes Mark Zuckerberg getting the old R.I.P. notification.
If you are dead then you will be seeing a banner on top of your profile that shows the memorialized version of a Facebook page. While this is a glitch, it does give us a taste of what we can all expect someday. Death comes for us all, my friends!
The banner itself reads:
“We hope people who love [name] will find comfort in the things others share to remember and celebrate [his/her] life.” We’ve seen it ourselves. It’s very weird to see the dead version of your Facebook profile.
Facebook is aware of the glitch and are currently looking into the matter, but things seem to have reverted back to normal for most people at the time of this writing. Let’s all hope it’s a glitch and not some weird artistic statement about what they think about the election results (it’s not, I’m just joking so don’t lose you mind).
so apparently this is a FB glitch but i think it describes how we all feel inside rn pic.twitter.com/cHRsqSVrJK
