Evercade Announces Broken Sword Collection

Broken Sword Collection Brings Two Classic Adventure Games to Evercade

Blaze Entertainment has today announced the Broken Sword Collection, bringing Revolution Software’s celebrated Broken Sword adventures to the Evercade cartridge library with the first entries in the franchise combined on an Evercade cartridge.

This collection brings together two of the most beloved point-and-click adventure games: Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars and its sequel, Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror. These critically acclaimed titles, known for their engrossing narratives, memorable characters, and stunning visuals, continue to enthrall players.

For the first time, fans can experience these original 32-bit timeless console classics on a single physical cartridge, made possible by the Evercade’s Giga Cart format, allowing for more complex and larger games on the same iconic cartridge design.

Originally released in 1996 and 1997, Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars and Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror set a gold standard for the adventure genre with their intricate puzzles, captivating stories, and deep gameplay. With themes of mystery, history, and intrigue, these titles continue to captivate fans nearly three decades after their debut.

This release reinforces Blaze Entertainment’s commitment to bringing classic, critically-acclaimed retro games to the Evercade ecosystem. The collection is compatible with all Evercade systems, including the handheld EXP-R, VS-R home console, the new bartop-sized Evercade Alpha arcade machines, and the HyperMegaTech! Super Pocket handhelds.
