Probably doesn’t run them too well, but hey, it’s all butter.
You ever look at your power bank and think “this’d be a lot better if it was a Game Boy”? Well, you’re not the only one. And a Chinese company apparently thought that was a big enough niche to possibly trigger international copyright law.
They were probably right.
Thus, some company called Peepsquare has made just that. As is standard for these sorts of things, it goes by many names. Coincidentally, there are probably a few different versions of it floating around, like ones that are or aren’t USB-C compatible, so give it a good lookover first. You could get one at this site for $40, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
On the flipside, you can get them for less from slightly more, uh, safe sites for less. Like Amazon (Link 1, Link 2) and AliExpress (I guess?). It supposedly comes with 416 built-in games. That said, it’s typical that some of them are probably repeats, if they even run properly at all. Also, there’s the dubious legality of the having games like Super Mario Bros. and Galaga on there.
That said, If it pans out to be decent kit, you can probably expect hobbyists to figure out a way to put whatever you want on there. Also, even if they’re crap, the controls are at least physical. So it’s probably not bad for the sort of thing you’ll be carrying around anyway.
On the other hand, you’ll probably also have your phone on you. So unless you’re one of the idiots that keeps giving Apple money, you probably have a better emu box in your pocket right now. Then again, I’m the kind of nutter that likes having separate devices for specific purposes, so it’s really up to you.
