I guess everyone gets their start somewhere.
Timothée Chalamet has suddenly become a hot commodity in Hollywood. Chalamet is currently Paul Atreides in the new Dune adaptation, and is set to play a young Willy Wonka in an upcoming prequel film based on Charley and the Chocolate Factory. But apparently, he started off on YouTube, showing off Xbox 360 Controllers that he modded with intention to sell.
Vice went to great lengths to try and confirm if the young man in the videos was, in fact a young Chalamet. Spurred on by rumors, they mostly came across circumstantial evidence. Eventually, they even secured the services of a security expert who typically investigates war crimes to help them look into it. The young man in the videos, however, never shows his face.
Admittedly, however, the dates from the videos match with Chalamet’s age. But even comparison with a picture the star posted to Instagram of himself as a child proved inconclusive.
Ultimately, it was Timothée Chalamet himself that spilled the beans, along with co-star Zendaya.
Apparently, he earned all of $30 off of these mods. At least, until his parents told him to stop getting spray paint all over the place.
