Disney+ is finally settling into a rhythm after a buggy launch. With the new stability comes some news for Marvel fans as the streaming platform in the form of a short MCU documentary that teases Phase 4.
A lot of the footage comes from the D23 panel and show over the summer, but it’s the first clear look general fans have at some new characters as well as some updated outfits for some fan favorites.
Bucky Barnes
Bucky gets himself a new costume that is much sleeker and connects him closer to his Avenger friends. His short hair makes a comeback and we can only hope that this means bigger things await our favorite anti-hero.
Falcon
You didn’t think it would be as easy as handing Falcon the shield and everything would be right as rain, did you? While Falcon does take up the mantle, it’s not without issue considering in the comics Cap worked for the U.S. government and the shield was their property. This updated Falcon look is neat and hints that he might be conflicted as to whether he’s worthy of carry on for Cap.
U.S. Agent
It might look like Captain America, but this is John Walker, the U.S. Agent. One of my favorite characters from the Captain America comics, U.S. Agent takes up the shield when Cap retires/dies (I can’t keep things straight after all these years). It’s looking like the government will want him to take over, and with his very Cap look, they might want the world to not know Cap is old and gone. Suit looks great and the potential conflict between him, Bucky and Falcon should be interesting.
Agent 13
Sharon Carter returns as Agent 13 sporting a more tactical look. We wonder what agency she is with as there is a lack of any SHIELD logo on her outfit. Will she be pairing with U.S. Agent like Bucky does with Falcon? Time will tell.
Baron Zemo
Baron Zemo makes his return to wreck havoc in The Falcon & The Winter Soldier. He’s got his traditional purple ski-mask, which I never thought I’d see in the MCU. As long as he’s someplace cold the getup would look pretty okay.
Team Hawkeye
We are introduced to Kate Bishop, who is joining Clint in the upcoming Hawkeye show. The pair had an amazing comic book run and you better believe fans are excited to see what sort of trouble the duo get into. And better yet, we clearly see Lucky the Pizza Dog in the shot who will almost definitely be the star of the show.
