‘Digimon World: Next Order’ has launched and it looks lovely

Something, something, Digimon are the champions!

Look, I’ll be honest and say the whole Digimon thing passed me by, and other than once having a Digimon Virtual Pet (essentially a Tamagotchi for boys) back in the day the show has been a mystery. Although I did see that the trainer kid from the show and his T-Rex became United Nations diplomats or something, so good for them.

Anyways, Bandai Namco has announced that Digimon World: Next Order is out now and delivers an all-new adventure for fans of the Digital World. So all you analog people can get right the fudge out! Machinedramons are running rampant and causing utter chaos within the Digital World. Players will take-on the persona of either Takuto or Shiki to explore and traverse the Digital World to solve a digi-mystery and bring a digi-end to the digi-chaos brought by the digi-Machinedramons. Digi.

“Digimon is a beloved franchise and we are excited to bring the Digimon World series back to the loyal and passionate Digimon fans in the Americas.” said Mark Religioso, Marketing Brand Manager at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. “Digimon World: Next Order provides fans with a unique gameplay system that focuses on forging strong bonds with their Digimon companions. Every single interaction, no matter how big or small, will affect gameplay in some way. Players’ success in the game is directly tied to how well they develop their Digimon; we can’t wait to see and hear about players’ different gameplay experiences.”

I still have no idea what the hell is going on but it sure seems a lot deeper than Pokemon or that Digimon TV show that was on the air all those years ago. The game is out now on PS4 and I might just have to check it out!
