Some of Destiny 2’s Endgame now Requires Curse of Osiris DLC

Destiny 2

One wonders why they do this to their fanbase.

If you’re a Destiny 2 player, chances are you’ve spent some of this year unhappy. Well, get ready to end the year as you’ve lived it. Because the Curse of Osiris DLC has caused a balance shift that will leave you miserable.

With the new DLC, the power cap has been raised from 305 to 335. Which wouldn’t, itself, be too much of a problem, if the game balance hadn’t been shifted with the cap raise. Now, challenges that were reserved for players around the 300 cap have been pushed out of that range. So, if you don’t fork over some cash for the DLC, you’ll never even get to play through that content. They also have a 270 power range playlist, Heroic Strike, but that, too is nestled behind a DLC wall.

Bungie hasn’t addressed the issue yet. But judging from this tweet by Community Manager DeeJ they’re planning to say something in the weekly update.

Boy, it must suck to be a fan of Destiny 2 right now.
