One wonders why they do this to their fanbase.
If you’re a Destiny 2 player, chances are you’ve spent some of this year unhappy. Well, get ready to end the year as you’ve lived it. Because the Curse of Osiris DLC has caused a balance shift that will leave you miserable.
With the new DLC, the power cap has been raised from 305 to 335. Which wouldn’t, itself, be too much of a problem, if the game balance hadn’t been shifted with the cap raise. Now, challenges that were reserved for players around the 300 cap have been pushed out of that range. So, if you don’t fork over some cash for the DLC, you’ll never even get to play through that content. They also have a 270 power range playlist, Heroic Strike, but that, too is nestled behind a DLC wall.
Obviously I dunno what goes on internally, but after ANOTHER chart topping "Bungie hides vanilla content behind DLC," reddit spree, it's just driving me nuts. I'm mad for you, I'm mad at you. Obviously Bungie cares, but christ man. Gimme a good headline.

Bungie hasn’t addressed the issue yet. But judging from this tweet by Community Manager DeeJ they’re planning to say something in the weekly update.
Too busy to tweet this morning. Sorry for the silence. Working with @A_dmg04 to finalize the details you'll see in 'This Week At Bungie.'

Boy, it must suck to be a fan of Destiny 2 right now.
