In a question and answer video on his Instagram page, Sylvester Stallone answered a question from a fan that asked about a possible Demolition Man sequel. It was an offhand question but Sly managed to surprise by noting that the film is currently in the works at Warner Brothers.
Fun fact: Taco Bell helped sponsor the film as you can tell from the copious amounts of mentions and being the only food left in the future. The movie introduced a new future logo to fit the film and the company liked it so much that it adopted it. So, when you see the Taco Bell logo you can thank Demolition Man.
What’s interesting about the news is that Stallone hasn’t been on great terms with the studio the past few years. In 2017 he sued Warner Bros., claiming he had not received his share of the profits for a number of films he did for the studio. One film in question was Demolition Man, noting he hadn’t received any profits from the film.
Thankfully, the case was settled last year and the pair are working together again. This is the way of the world in Hollywood. You could hate someone and sue them to the moon and back, but once the beef ends you come back to the table to work. You never say never in Hollywood.
