Just never stop screaming as this property gets dragged through the muck.

Hey, remember last year, when a live-action Powerpuff Girls series was announced? And I thought it was a bad fucking idea? And then Season 2 of Batwoman came out, and without saying anything about it, I was even more sure it was a bad idea?

Well, guess what the CW ordered a pilot for? If you guessed live-action, disillusioned-twentysomethings Powerpuff Girls, congratulations! You’ve won the same misery we’ve all been living in for the past God-knows-how-long. Don’t you go spending it all in one place!

The pilot will be executive produced under Greg Berlanti’s production house Berlanti Productions, with Berlanti, David Madden, and Sarah Schechter will executive producing. The show will be produced by Erika Kennair and Warner Bros. Television. And I’m sure that no one will learn anything.

Look, I’m gonna go on a tangent, here. Nobody seems to understand why Powerpuff Girls worked, in the same way that practically nobody understands why Star Wars worked, and the number of people that do are distressingly low. The show mostly ran on (fantastically animated) comedic violence contrasted by the fact that the heroes were preschool-aged little girls that had superpowers (coincidentally, it had broad appeal, which the 2016 series made without any of the original crew… didn’t). You can’t take something the original show did as a one-off joke and turn it into a series; it’s impossible.

But hey, you know what? I’ll at least commend them if they manage to pull something like this off:

I doubt they will but, hey, gotta at least dangle that thread, right?

Side note: we live in Hell, in endless torment.
