Chances are if you, like me, prefer wireless mice, you get a bit of stick for it. And if you’re looking for a gaming quality mouse, you’re in for worse luck. Most manufacturers offer maybe one wireless model, if at all; and they often all suffer from the same problem. That being a short battery life, and a constant need to recharge (if rechargeable) or replace batteries. Corsair’s Concept Zeus aims to fix that.
The Concept Zeus is wireless, of course, but that’s not the important feature. The important feature is the mousepad it comes with; it is in fact a Qi charger, allowing the Concept Zeus to recharge as you use it. As a matter of fact, any Qi enabled device can recharge while set on the pad. Sure, you can still recharge Concept Zeus with a cable; that can be useful in certain situations, after all. But the pad is the the unique draw here. That said, my one real worry would be cost efficiency; running a charger all the time is a legitimate concern.
The Concept Zeus does still have a few minor kinks to work out before it hits the market (mostly to do with the pad being less effective on the outer edges). But it is set to launch late this year, supposedly within the $150-$200 price range. So we won’t have to wait too long to see for ourselves.
