Comcast’s Xfinity service was down most of Monday across several states. According to DownDetector‘s map at the time, the northeast was hit particularly hard by the outage, Boston included, leaving MovieBob completely unable to offer us any insight into his brilliant mind.
The ComcastCares Twitter account did it’s best to placate customers in the meantime:

By about 2 p.m., Pacific, the problem was solved. According to an article on Techcrunch, the problem was caused by an issue with their “backhaul” provider, Level 3. Specifically a configuration error that affected IP-based customers like Comcast, according to Level 3’s Twitter.

So, now Comcast subscribers have internet access again. And they can enjoy the cat videos and wisdom of the ancient masters.
