Does anyone remember that animated Treasure PLanet film that Disney did a bunch of years back? I don’t blame you as not even I really remember it beyond the awesome idea of pirate ships in space. So I really don’t blame you is you missed the PC game based on the film, even if the game was pretty incredible. I’m serious! You should track that thing down if you can.

I bring all that up because the trailer for Cloud Pirates reminds me a lot of that game. Sure, the trailer doesn’t show much (maybe not any) real gameplay, what it does show reminds me of the best parts of Treasure Planet. The game seems to skip the space bit, but come one, flying pirate ships are pretty bad-ass.

Cloud Pirates is an an action MMO where you deck out your pirate airship with cutting edge weaponry and take to the skies against other captains. It’s an interesting concept for an MMO and the closed beta should give players a good idea is the game is worth the investment.
