We all pretty much have some sort on video game console in the house; at least if you are reading this site. From an Xbox to a PlayStation to a Nintendo something or other, we take the world of console gaming as something that has become part of the collectivity consciousness. The CleverPet Hub (www.getcleverpet.com), the first game console for dogs looks to bring the console world to the dogs in your home. This pet centered console will finally be unveiled to the public at CES in Las Vegas, January 6-9, 2016.
The CleverPet Hub uses smart hardware to teach dogs and provide mental stimulation through advanced cognitive and behavioral science techniques. The Hub is CleverPet’s first product, and the centerpiece of an extensive learning platform that will turn homes into interactive virtual playgrounds for pets.
The CleverPet Hub looks to entertain and engage dogs through puzzles that combine lights, sounds and touch pads. It rewards furry friends with a bit of their regular food each time a puzzle is solved. The WiFi-connected Hub adapts game complexity and style in real time to match each animal’s unique responses and progress so there’s always something new to learn.
Co-designed by IDEO co-founder Mike Nuttall and built by animal lovers with PhDs in neuroscience, the CleverPet Hub offers mental engagement and learning opportunities to dogs through adaptive, anytime play—automatically, and whether humans are home or away. Combining unique technology and durability to provide dogs with rich all-day engagement, the Hub is made of high-strength plastic and easy to clean.
In 2014, the CleverPet team launched a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $180,000 for the Hub, the company’s core product. Since then, the Hub’s development has been highlighted in major international publications ranging from USA Today and Engadget to the Daily Mail and CNET, among hundreds of others.
