I know what that is!
It’s sort of rare to get a genuine nostalgia shock these days, at least for those like me. Doubly so when the source of that is a watch. But Citizen did it, with these watches inspired by Star Wars‘ iconic starfighters the X-Wing and the Tie Fighter.
Citizen is known for their pilot watches, and I imagine that these, while not necessarily their usual target demographic’s choice, also fit the bill. Both watches are designed to look like the instruments of their specific spacecraft. The Rebel Pilot comes in a silver colored finish, and is incredibly evocative of the X-Wing (I’d also argue it’s the easier-to-read of the two). Conversely, the Trench Run features the darker features of a Tie cockpit. The Rebel Pilot will run you $350, while the Trench Run comes in a bit higher at $375.
Aside from theming, both watches have the same features: side-by-side dual analog time dials, as well as three digital displays that show the current mode, date, and temperature. Both watches are water resistant (not waterproof) as well, so short of taking a dip, they’ll hold up as well as any other watch in the price range.
