Gearbox finally confirmed that Borderlands 3 is happening by dropping a gameplay trailer for the project during their PAX East panel this afternoon. They made it clear that 2019 is going to be “The Year of Borderlands,” even though we are getting pretty deep into the year already. No word on what licensed project the siphoned money from. I’m kidding. Probably.
The trailer sets up the four new Vault Hunters, shows off some old friends from the past, and a bunch of planets that you’ll be able to adventure on for all that sweet, sweet loot. Sure, most of the weapon drops will still probably be junk, but loot is loot, baby!
Gearbox says there will be over a billion guns, which just seems plain silly. You know at least 900,000,000 of those will be trash with silly names. Still, Borderlands does love its random weapon generator feature and we love opening chests, so why not.
