CES 2019: We put Alexa in your bicycle, dawg

The idea of putting Alexa into a bicycle makes no sense to me; and this is coming from a guy who thought putting bluetooth into a loaf a bread was a decent startup idea.

The Cybic E-Legend looks to make your life easier as you pedal around town on this sleek looking bike. You’ll also probably be driven up the wall anytime some yells “Hey, Alexa” near you.

“Hey, Alexa! Hit the brakes!”

In all seriousness, the Cybic E-Legend does offer up some interesting features, especially if you spend a lot of time on two wheels. You can get directions if you lose your way to the hispter farmers market that only sells purple vegetables.

And as with other Alexa enabled devices you can tell your bike to turn on your lights at home, turn on the heater, or use the drop-in function to leave your friends a message when you’re late for that bluetooth bread sensor startup you’re probably working at already.

All this is handled via a small screen between the handle bars. You know, where you’d probably put you smartphone with one of those $5 clips from Target. Sure, it has a small speaker in their too, but I’m still asking why.

Just wait until the first news story about someone getting their Alexa bike stolen, rode to the victims house, used to unlock the door and rob them blind, all before the owner is even done with their mason jar filled PBR and kimchi tacos.
