Remind me; how many red flags are we up to, now?
Star Trek: Discovery has had a long, twisted road to getting made. It doesn’t help that CBS has decided to stick it on their streaming service. But they’ve recently made another decision that sends up a flare; placing a review embargo on the first episode.
EMBARGO!! CBS is prohibiting publication of reviews of #StarTrekDiscovery prior to airing.

Now, that isn’t always a bad sign. Plenty of films and shows, even games, will place an embargo on publishing a review of their content. Sometimes, it’s something as simple as making sure a twist doesn’t leak before the street date. But in Discovery‘s case, it’s worrying. Because the other reason you might see a review embargo is that the thing in question isn’t good, and they know it. And Discovery‘s had a rocky enough development that that may be the case. I think what they’ve done to the Klingons is somehow worse than what they did in the Abrams films.

Regardless, we won’t know for sure until the premiere on September 24th. Just, cross your fingers for Star Trek: Discovery. It’s been a while since we had a Star Trek series on TV.
