Cancelled Justice League Fighting Game From Killer Instinct Team Comes To Light

Justice League Fighting Game

Killer Instinct is a fine fighting game that has helped the Xbox One bring in competitive fighting game fans to their console. Double Helix, who developed the game, in turn resurrecting a Rare classic had another fighter up their sleeve before making waves with KI . While Double Helix may no longer be working on the still active Killer Instinct (they were bought out by Amazon, turning over the KI rights back to Microsoft) they did have more fighting games in their blood.

It just so happened that the team had a Justice League game in the works, prior to Netherealm producing Injustice, but the project was cancelled before it could really take flight on the Xbox 360. The good news for us is that recently some footage of the game has been made available online. The project codenamed “Green Lantern: A Justice League Game” shows Batman taking on the man of steel himself, Superman. It should be noted that the game wasn’t intended to be a strict fighting game, but more along the lines of a brawler.

Whatever the case may be, the game never saw the light of day, but at least you can get an idea of just how it might have turned out. Personally, I’d love to see the team use this style of game in future projects.
