You can use your PlayStation VR headset on Xbox One & Wii U

PlayStation VR is now on store shelves across the country. While sales are good, as they always are for a new major peripheral, only time will tell if this stays around or becomes another fad. But with all the excitement a small issues had cropped up with the PlayStation VR –You can use the thing on both Xbox One and Wii U.

The PlayStation VR subreddit has all the details about some users being able to access the device on competing consoles. We don’t have a device, so we can’t verify this ourselves, but other outlets have. Some users are claiming that by simply plugging the HDMI cable from the device to another console you’ll be able to see that consoles menu on the headset.

Polygon has confirmed that this is possible, but that there is no head tracking and you wont be getting that “full immersion” that comes by linking the device with a PS4. Another user claims that this also works with the Wii U, but we have no conformation regarding that claim.

While you can play Xbox One games this way, it probably isn’t ideal, but we are sure Sony can’t be all that happy with this development.
