Borderlands 2 DLC Linked To Borderlands 3 Per Steam Leak

Borderlands 3

At least it’s free.

Borderlands 2 is getting some free DLC in the leadup to the release of Borderlands 3. Or at least, that’s what a leak that was previously on Steam had to say. The leak named the DLC Borderlands 2: Commander Lilith & The Fight For Sanctuary, and it included screenshots. The leak has since been removed, but was preserved on ResetEra.

The description:

Return to the award winning shooter-looter for a new adventure that sets the stage for the upcoming Borderlands 3. Sanctuary is under siege, the Vault’s map has been stolen and a toxic gas is poisoning Pandora. Fight new bosses, explore new zones, get new loot (including an entirely new tier beyond Legendary) and join up with Lilith and the Crimson Raiders to take on a deranged villain hell-bent on ruling the planet

Returning players can pursue an increased level cap of 80, while newcomers can automatically boost to level 30 and dive straight into the action.

Since the hub for Borderlands 3 has already been named Sanctuary 3, And the description ties it all together, this is probably something Borderlands fans won’t want to miss. The DLC is rumored to drop sometime around E3 this month, well in advance of Borderlands 3‘s release date of September 13th.
