Work is da poop!
Blizzard skipped BlizzCon in 2024, and they’re going to skip it this year too. But don’t worry, they’ve said that it’ll happen in 2026 baby! That’s gonna be their year!
Notably, though, BlizzCon has traditionally happened in November. However, in 2026, BlizzCon will run on Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13. Don’t be too worried BlizzFans; it will still be held in the Anaheim Convention Center.
From the press release:
We’ve come a long way since our first event in 2005. Over the past nearly 20 years since its inception, BlizzCon has inspired us to innovate, push the boundaries of creativity, and deliver once-in-a-lifetime moments. It’s important that we put on an event worthy of our community. For 2026, alongside BlizzCon staples like Opening Ceremony, in-depth panels, the Darkmoon Faire, friendly competition, hands-on gameplay, and more, we aim to meaningfully elevate this iconic celebration and create an unforgettable experience for all who take part in it. We are building this event just like we build our games: with a deep commitment to our players, with respect for your connections to our universes, and as a celebration of the strength of the bonds formed through shared adventure.
While there was a BlizzCon in 2023, given the planning and leadup involved, this will be the first BlizzCon planned completely under the Microsoft umbrella.
And they’re promising the full range of BlizzCon activities for 2026. They would not dream of giving you less than the full amount of activities. As of right now, however, tickets are not currently for sale. So, anyone who wishes to go to BlizzCon 2026 will want to keep a sharp eye on the news.
