One of the standout titles from Nintendo’s indie showcase this morning was a game that old-school Nintendo fans should know very well. The original Blaster Master was this incredible mix of genres at a time when most games were still trying to figure out the whole scrolling to the right thing.
Blaster Master Zero is a 8-bit style top-down & side-view 2D action-adventure game that harkens back to the golden age of the NES. Blaster Master Zero uses the original 1988 NES title “Blaster Master” from Sunsoft as a base, with the addition of new areas and bosses, new gameplay elements such as extra sub-weapons, improved gameplay, a more robust scenario, refined and expanded exploration mechanics, and more.
You can think of Blaster Master Zero much in the same way as Mega Man 9 and 10. It updates the series while still retaining the classic look and feel. One update that the game is getting is the inclusion of a co-op two-player mode so your friends can join in on the fun.
Blaster Master Zero drops on March 9th for Switch and Nintendo 3DS at the incredibly reasonable price of $9.99.
