Bethesda E3 Rumors Hint At Skyrim Remaster, Prey 2 & More

Skyrim Remaster

Bethesda is a big deal at E3. Every time we visit the company at the show the manage to put on a lovely presentation for the press. While the company has yet to officially announce their E3 line-up, rumors have now surfaced about what they will have in-store for us.

The gaming website Eurogamer has done some digging and corroborated the earlier rumors about a return to Skyrim. It seems that Bethesda will have a lot to say about this Skyrim Remaster and also note that this is more than some simple release.

Of the nearly 400 games in my Steam library Skyrim is the most played by far. Hell, the funny thing is that I never even completed the first main quest to go see the Greybeards. I have spent nearly 200 hours just role-playing as a regular dude doing every side quest I could.

That being said I am a little wary of this remaster as it feels like one of those “too soon” situations. I’ve been saying that this current console generation is all about updating last generations games.

Along with Skyrim, Bethesda will also reintroduce the long thought canceled Prey 2. The original was a load of fun, but got lost in the greatness that was Portal which launched around the same time. This new Prey 2 will be completely different from the Prey 2 that Human Head studios was working on from 2011.

Those are two big games already, but the company has a few more tricks up its sleeve with Wolfenstein 2, The Evil Within 2, and the game gameplay footage of Dishonered 2.

Looks like Bethesda is banking on their sequels to take them into and through 2017. Considering the quality of all the original games it’s not a bad move.
