Become a Flyboy in the upcoming Warhammer 40K Ork flight sim ‘Dakka Squadron’

“Just fly straight at ’em as fast as ya can, give ’em sum dakka, and don’t ferget to yell “WAAAGH!” dead loud like. Nuffin’ to it!”

I’m a fan of most of the digital Warhammer 40K games out there. Weirdly enough, I’ve never actually played the table-top version of the game, mostly because I’m not made of unlimited money and can’t paint miniatures for jack.

The games encompass FPS titles, thrid person adventures, and lots and lots of strategy titles set in just about every area of the 40K universe. Now a new game is taking the 40K universe to the skies in Dakka Squadron, announced today by developer Phosphor Games.

Where most Orks like to keep their feet planted on the ground, those known as Flyboyz happily jump into screaming planes in their quest for, no, their need for speed. Very unstable and without fear, these deranged Orks only care about sowing chaos in the skies.

Those that partake in Dakka Squadron will be able to play as five Ork Clans (Blood Axes, Goffs, Bad Moons, Death Skullz, and Evil Sunz). Each of these clans feature their own traits and abilities that they can use in the skies above.

Riding in their Dakkajets, Burna Bommas, and other manic machines, you’ll play through 20 missions and unlock better weapons, metal machines, and work your way up the ranks into legendary status to have your name echoed on the battlefield.

Dakka Squadron is being set up to be a “fast-paced aerial shooter,” so don’t expect some slow strategy affair. This one is shaping up to be as ridiculous as the Flyboyz themselves.
