Batgirl Composer Considers Film Cancellation A Shame Due To 90 Minutes Of Soundtrack Going Down The Drain

Batgirl

Sad Bat-music, sad times.

One of the things that probably doesn’t get much thought when a movie is canned is the soundtrack. And in the case of the recently-cancelled Batgirl, the soundtrack was finished. And the movie’s composer, Natalie Holt considers the scrapping of the project after everything was done a massive shame”.

Speaking to Discussing Film, Holt stated that she spent over a year on the soundtrack to Batgirl. And all that went to waster on August 2nd, when Warner Bros. cancelled the movie.

I had written about an hour and a half of music. I’ve been working on it for a year. So yeah, pretty sad what’s happened to it. I was on set last Christmas, Adil and Bilall really loved Loki and that’s why I got picked to do the score for Batgirl. So it’s a shame that it’s not going to be out there in the world after all that time, like having spent a year working on it. Yeah, pretty disappointing.

Holt has a number of credits under her belt, most recently including Loki and Obi-Wan Kenobi for Disney. So it’s safe to say that the soundtrack for Batgirl was likely quite good.

I think it’s a massive shame. It’s been a pleasure to work with the people involved, but that’s all I can say.
