Color me surprised.
You may be familiar with Atari’s recent efforts to reestablish themselves. Notably, a couple months back they bought the rights to over 100 game IPs, including Bubsy (what could possibly go wrong?). And now, a brand new Atari 2600 cartridge.
Mr. Run and Jump is a game that will be released multiplatform, according to its site. But, it also has the honor of being the first officially released game cartridge for the Atari 2600 since 1990. Granted, it’s a limited edition sort of thing, but still. Not often you get an official demake.
While there are no hard release dates for any version of Mr. Run and Jump, pre-orders for the Atari 2600 limited edition cart begin on July 31st.
