Making a video game is a lot of work. You have so many things to manage and put together, and this is all made ever harder when you are a single-man development team.
That said, maybe you should have someone check your work or you’ll end up with your character holding an old Razr phone upside-down in your announcement trailer.
Trying to ignore that silly goof, The Slater looks pretty good for a one-man production. Sure, this is a Unity game and I have lots of feelings about that, but I’ll save them until we actually get to play the game for ourselves. Thankfully the gameplay trailer (see below) the studio followed up with is far better and without weird phone issues.
The Slater puts you in the shoes of a former cop Mark Slater and sends you to assassinate low-life drug dealers and notorious crime bosses as you seek revenge for your father’s murder.
Explore the atmospheric environments, gather information of your enemies, create distractions, kill a guard and obtain their clothes, blend in, think your next move and without anyone witnessing – Eliminate your targets.
We are getting a lot of Hitman vibes from the gameplay trailer and that isn’t a bad thing. It’s anyone’s guess how this one turns out but we are keeping our fingers crossed.
The studio gave us a rundown on the features you can expect in The Slater.
