No ETA.
As it turns out, Star Wars KOTOR II is actually unfinishable on the Nintendo Switch. You literally cannot complete the game to to a game ending bug. And the devs, Aspyr, have admitted as much.
As it turns out, a customer really wanted to know if the company knew the game was impossible to complete. Coincidentally, the reason it’s impossible to complete is, ironically, due to the game crashing after running the “Basilisk Crash” cutscene on Onderon. He actually had to ask again before Aspyr responded to him, specifically.
There’s apparently some question as to how a game-ending bug got through QA. I’m pretty sure it didn’t, as there’s no way to miss it. It probably just got waved through by a supervisor or something anyway.
Regardless, this is somewhat sad as far as Aspyr goes. The Austin-based company has been porting a number of the older Star Wars games to modern platforms, and doing a pretty good job with them (aiming in games like Jedi Outcast aside, of course, no version of that game was optimized for controller input in the first place). Still, it might be worth waiting on a fix before setting off on the second Old Republic adventure. At least, on Switch.
