FINALLY!
Kevin Conroy is, much like Mark Hamill with The Joker, the golden standard when it comes to Batman. Depending on who you’re talking to, he is the stick by which all after him are measured. And yet, he has never played the role in live action. That’s about to change.
Because this year’s Arrowverse crossover is pulling out all the stops. You’re getting three Supermen. You’re getting characters like Black Lightning in the event, when they were previously kept separate for the sake of their story. And the crown jewel is that we finally get Kevin Conroy in the cowl.
The news was announced at the TCA summer press tour. The CW’s statement:
This coming season, The CW will present its biggest DC crossover ever with Crisis on Infinite Earths airing across five different episodes of the network’s hit superhero series and spanning two quarters (December 2019 and January 2020). The Crisis on Infinite Earths episodic air schedule is as follows:”
– Supergirl – Sunday, December 8, 2019 (8pm ET/PT)
– Batwoman – Monday, December 9, 2019 (8pm ET/PT)
– The Flash – Tuesday, December 10, 2019 (8pm ET/PT)
– Arrow – Tuesday, January 14, 2020 (8pm ET/PT)
– DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 14, 2020 (9pm ET/PT)
Look, I’ll be honest with you. I dropped most of these shows around my hospital stay late last year, partly due to someone clearing the DVR, partly because some of them continued to have intolerable B-plots. But this? I’ll watch. Oh yeah, this I’ll watch.
