Arrested Development coming back for season 5

Arrested Development

There’s always  money in… Netflix? Terrible joke aside, as you may have heard recently the much-loved series Arrested Development is coming back for a fifth season.

Arrested Development had a huge fan base and is considered by many to be one of the best comedy shows to ever be canceled by FOX. While season four debuted on Netflix it wasn’t as well received by fans as the original three seasons were.

I enjoyed it for what it was, but when things are hyped beyond what they can ever achieve it was to be expected. Still, the shows fourth season did well enough that Netflix is working to bring a season five to viewers soon.

Of course this is a logistical nightmare as the show is known for its large ensemble cast that are all now doing their own things. That was a major complaint that many viewers had with season four. The interaction between the cast is such a major part of the show and not being able to have everyone together on screen at once left people wanting.

The content chief of Netflix, Ted Sarandos even came out recently saying that not having the entire ensemble onscreen more often during season four was a “fair criticism” of the show. We can only hope the people behind the show can work out the schedules to get the family back together again for more screen time.
