Warner Bros. and DC today revealed to us the trailer for the first story driven add-on for Batman: Arkham Knight – Batgirl: A Matter of Family. This story is set prior to the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batgirl: A Matter of Family will allow players to take on the role of Batgirl for the first time in the Batman: Arkham franchise.
When The Joker kidnaps Commissioner Gordon and holds him hostage at the Seagate Amusement Park, Batgirl and Robin must fight against the odds to save him and avoid falling victim to The Joker’s sinister plan. Trained by Batman, Batgirl’s combat combines with unparalleled hacking abilities to take down enemies, control objects and solve puzzles.
It is yet to be seen if this arc will finish with us playing out the moment that Batgirl loses the use of her legs thanks to the Joker, but that sure seems to be what the popular theory is at the moment. How they handle this could be quite interesting as the Arkham series has taken quite a lot of liberties with the Batman universe. Also, it’s great seeing Harley in her classic Jester outfit in the trailer!
