All you need is the price point.
Apple unveiled a mixed reality headset at WWDC 2023. It does VR and AR. It even has a dorky passthrough for your eyes.

Among the bells and whistles are passthrough cameras for hand and eye tracking. It supposedly is intended to work like a wearable Macbook, with all that entails. Except, you know, with gestural control.
Problem, and the thing they’ve been getting dunked on, is the price point: $3,499. Even the crowd knew, courtesy of this clip by @katamogz on TikTok:
They finally found their $599 US dollars.
It doesn’t matter how it’s designed. It doesn’t matter what tech is in it. It doesn’t matter how good a deal it is considering what tech’s in it. It doesn’t matter what its battery life is (2 hours, btw), or even the fact that it’s got a battery pack in your pocket. They’ve hit a price point of ridicule, and you need only search for what people are saying about it to see that.
