Apple Discontinues iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle

Still a better fate than the Zune.

They circle of life continues to turn in the tech world. Today, Apple discontinued both the iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle. Both models have now been removed from their website and online store.

It’s not really much of a surprise, really. They were the last models that didn’t run iOS and were basically dedicated music players. They couldn’t have been making them too much money, considering how inexpensive similar devices of comparable storage now are in comparison, either.

This isn’t the end of the iPod line, however. Apple’s continuing on with new devices like the AirPods and HomePod. And the iPod Touch is still going strong. Still, it’s hard not to see the discontinuation of the iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle as the end of an era, of sorts.

~Press F to pay respects, my dudes.~
