Games get canceled all the time. Sometimes the run out of money, publishers up and bail, developers jump ship; the list is nearly endless. But one excuse we haven’t heard in a long time is most of the budget for a game being blown on strippers and booze. Sure, this kind of thing did happen back in the 90’s when game developers saw themselves as rockstars, but the industry has pretty much moved on from that -or so we thought.
As tends to be the case with these massive failures, Kickstarter always seems to come into the picture. It would seem that after a successful Kickstarter campaign, as well as some investment funding, a few of the developers behind Ant Simulator decided all that money would be better spent elsewhere. Oh, and by elsewhere I mean on copious amounts of booze and strippers.
Eric Tereshinski has resigned as the lead programmer on Ant Simulator after the news about his “friends” came to light, no doubt changing that relationship. You can check out the video he posted talking about it below:
A sad day for indie devs. People that pre-ordered the game can expect an email soon updating them on the situation.
