Very soon, everything will come up explodey.
Hanzo’s still a ways away, but that doesn’t mean the slow march of Overwatch content in Heroes of the Storm is stalling. Ana and Junkrat are heading to the Nexus. And they’re bringing Volskaya Industries with them.
Volskaya Foundry will function in a similar way to Overwatch’s king of the hill maps. It will have 3 capture points, and those points will sit at 99% until they’re no longer in contention. The first to get all 3 will get control of the Triglav Protector Mech, which, much like a supercharged Cho’Gall, requires 2 players to control; one to move it, and one to use its weapons.
As to Ana and Junkrat, Ana will get dropped in first. There’s no word on how exactly she’ll play, yet. In Overwatch, her primary attack heals or damages depending on whether it his a teammate or an enemy. She is being billed as a versatile Support, though, so its anybody’s guess Nonetheless, the rest of her kit is probably similar to her kit in Overwatch. Junkrat, on the other hand, is being billed as an assassin, and seems like he’ll have most of his kit, plus an extra or two.
Along with the major announcements, there are a host of skins and mounts coming:
- Commandant Varian
- Shrike Ana
- D.Va the Destroyer (based on Deathwing)
- Celestial Raptor Mount
- Invisible Horse Mount
GG!

Ana and Volskaya Foundry are hitting the PTR next week, with Junkrat to follow sometime in the future. It’s a sure bet Warcraft players are going to be salty about all of the Overwatch content coming to Heroes of the Storm, though.
