Amazon Dash is about to change the way we shop, again

Amazon is on a major roll this week with new product unveilings.  Today the launch  a new device that customers can use to add items to an online shopping list simply by scanning item barcodes or by speaking the name of the what you want into the devices built-in microphone.

Amazon Dash users will be able to, at push of a button, say “Whole Milk” or “Strawberry Yogurt” or even something like “Guitar Strings” to have said item saved into Amazon’s online store. The product is then  automatically added to the users  shopping cart. But wait, there’s more! With Dash users will also be able to scan barcodes on hundreds of thousands of items when they’re about to run out, and have more shipped right to your door.

Amazon Fresh, Amazons own grocery-delivery service, will deliver your order in less than a day, if you live in one of Amazon Fresh’s designated cities. The chain of Amazon Fresh locations will expand over time. The Dash unit, which connects your home Wi-Fi network will be made available free of charge, by invitation only to a very select number of amazon users before going national.
