The AERMOO M1 Looks Like One Rugged Smartphone

Aermoo isn’t a company that I’m aware of in the world of mobiles, but their M1 smartphone comes out of the gate with some pretty impressive features, especially if you’re someone, like me, who is quite prone to dropping and banging up their phone on a regular basis.

This little beast looks like it’s built to survive the worst you can throw at it, without ever needed to put it in a case. It features an all metal body in a rugged design with all sorts of hex-key looking bits and bobs. It uses CNC technology so that it’s as strong as it smooth.

It’s not the best looking phone out there, but if you need your device to take a beating the M1 looks capable. Personally, I think it looks like some Iron Man armor which is pretty neat in my book. Aermoo claims that the M1 is the world’s first 5.2″ rugged phone. I can’t verify that, but no other phone looks quite as distinct, or as tough.

Spec wise the M1 look to be no slouch either. It features an 21 megapixel Sony camera using an IMX 230 sensor inside. That should be enough to capture some really nice shots while exploring mother nature. A good camera would make sense as this phone seems designed for adventurers.

Inside we also get a 2.5Ghz octa-core MTK Helio P25 processor. That’s quite the mouth full, but running 8 cores is pretty impressive on paper. Not sure what the equivalent would be in a Snapdragon chip, but this one seems to be more than enough to run Android.

The M1 is also outfitted with 6GB of LPDDR4x Ram and 64GB of storage as standard. The GPU inside this littler device is clocked at 900MHz, so you can expect some really smooth games of Clawbert and Clash of Clans.

And because this is a outdoor focused phone, the battery life should be pretty good with the 5580mAh battery. But if you do start running out of juice you can take advantage of the advanced 12-V-2A fast charging, as well of its wireless charging capabilities.

The M1 also comes outfitted with some neat tools that are designed to make traveling a better experience. It has a built in GPS and SOS functions so you don’t get lost, but can also send for help if you do with the press of a button. It also features group communication via PTT.

This looks to be a pretty impressive package, but the best part is the price. You can snag an Aermoo M1 right now for only $379.99. The only downside is that is doesn’t seem to be offered in the United States at the moment, but if you live pretty much anywhere else you can order one.
