Blizzard cancels Titan MMO after seven years in development

Blizzard

It has been known for a while (within gamer circles) that Blizzad has been working on another MMO, one to take up the mantle from their wildly popular “World of Warcraft”.

Code-named Titan, the game was to usher in a vastly different world than Warcraft (nailed it!), but it seems that after seven years of development the game is now officially canceled. It seems that WoW is just too strong, even this many years after its original release that Blizzard is placing all its focus on keeping it fresh.

“We didn’t find the fun,” said Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime. “We didn’t find the passion. We talked about how we put it through a reevaluation period, and actually, what we reevaluated is whether that’s the game we really wanted to be making. The answer is no.”

The rise and immense popularity of Hearthstone  and the upcoming MOBA Heroes of the Storm have been speculated to leading to Blizzard dropping work on Titan altogether.
