Marvel has announced that Penguin Random House will be the sole distributor for Marvel’s comics and graphic novels worldwide. Previously, Diamond Comics was the sole worldwide distributor. The press release describes the decision, which goes into effect October 1st this year, as a “multi-year agreement” with no defined term length.
Retailers will still have the option of ordering from either Penguin Random House or Diamond Comics. Hachette Book Group will still handle the distribution of Marvel’s graphic novels and trade collections in the book market.

Notably, the release states that Marvel’s comics “will continue to be available on Wednesdays at comic shops everywhere”, and that this move will have no effect on Free Comic Book Day in May.
