How unfortunate.
Yesterday, for no apparent reason, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive completely disappeared from Steam. It wasn’t downloadable, it wasn’t playable. And in a first since launch, its playerbase plummeted.
And, according to SteamDB’s Pavel Djundik, it wasn’t the only one.
Valve, however, has made a statement on the matter, calling the issue “just a hiccup on the backend”. Still, it’s highly unusual to see a game like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive suddenly become completely inaccessible without warning like that. CS:GO has been available in perpetuity since its launch, barring scheduled downtime for maintenance.
It’s all just very unlike Steam.
