So about a month back, I wondered what would happen to Typhoon Studios (Journey to the Savage Planet) since Google was shutting down all of their game development studios. The answer, apparently, was fire them.
Seen Journey to the Savage Planet, Typhoon’s only release before being bought by Google, finally hit Stadia on February 1st. And, uh, it ain’t running too good on the platform.
So one user, fed up with the performance, reached out to Google to ask what they’re doing about it. Google responded that they’d work with the publisher to fix things. The problem is, the publisher, 505 Games, didn’t actually publish the game on Stadia; that dubious honor belongs to Google’s own publishing wing for Stadia. So 505 can do all of jack and shit for lordubuntu, there. The back and forth with Google:

Essentially, Google has already fired the only people that can fix this mess (and on the day the game launched on Stadia, too). Which isn’t really a surprise, considering this is Google. Typhoon is dead, and I’d imagine Stadia itself is not all that far behind them.
But, hey, someone from Google has made a Reddit thread to keep people posted on updates in regards to the game these people are trying to play not working. Which I’m sure will be updated on the regular.
Well, that’s the future of video games, I guess. Aside from the high seas, that is.
