Pandemic tech has, obviously, been a focus at CES this year. But you wouldn’t expect a doorbell to be among them; that said, you probably should have. Since everybody is touching the button for your doorbell with their grubby, outdoor mitts.
Enter the touchless doorbell by Alarm.com. It uses video analytics to figure out when someone is standing outside your door, and rings itself appropriately. In addition, it also allows you to view and converse with someon via your smartphone through the built in microphone, speaker and camera.

The doorbell also features signage that people shouldn’t touch it. You can also buy a special mat to set in front of it to aid in this aim. Standing in front of it can also trigger other Alarm.com devices, like smart lighting, at the owner’s discretion. It’s even smart enough to differentiate between people, pets, and packages.
The camera has 150° field of view, infrared night vision, full HD resolution with HDR, and even an onboard heater to keep its components from getting damaged by the cold in Winter. It can also save clips to Alarm.com’s Network Operations Center where they’ll be saved for 60 days, viewable by using the Alarm.com app. Sadly, there’s no local storage option.
While there’s no hard pricing, the company has stated that the system will run you less than $200.
