Crown Prince Of Saudi Arabia Hopes To Acquire Majority Ownership Of SNK

SNK

No, not Arabian Prince, sadly. Got our hopes up.

Through his youth-focused charity, MiSK, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia has reportedly purchased 33% of SNK. Moreover, that MiSk plans to acquire a majority ownership share of 51%.

This, in itself, has stirred a fair bit of controversy; which, to be honest, Prince Mohammed bin Salman is, uh, no stranger to. Notably, the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi, which he was implicated as having involvement in.

From the MiSK’s announcement, via Google translate:

The investment of the Mohammed bin Salman Charitable Foundation “MiSK Charity” in the Japanese company SNK reinforces its continuous commitment towards its goals of empowering Saudi men and women through building economic partnerships, as part of the institution’s updated strategy to maximize the impact on youth empowerment. The investment decision will also enhance the company’s strong capabilities that have many One of the innovative patents in the gaming sector with real potential for development and growth in the future, as the electronic games sector is one of the promising high growth sectors

This isn’t the first time MiSK has worked with SNK; previously, they worked together on video game and animation projects, as well as training programs for aspiring Saudi game developers.
