EVO 2020 has officially been canceled. This comes on the heels of reports that EVO CEO Joey Cuellar had been placed on administrative leave following accusations of sexual misconduct with underage teen boys in the mid-to-late 90s.
Tony Cannon has taken over as the new CEO, and has stated that he will be “prioritizing greater accountability across Evo, both internally and at our events.”

Refunds will be issued to players who have purchased entry into theis year’s online event in part due to the coronavirus pandemic that has swept the globe.
For his part, Cuellar took to Twitter and released a statement regarding the current turmoil noting:
I’m sorry. I never meant to hurt anyone. I was young and reckless and did things I’m not proud of. I have been growing and maturing over the past 20 years, but that doesn’t excuse anything. All I have been trying to do is become a better person. Once again, I’m truly sorry.
