Unlikely she’ll see any prison time at all, in actuality.
Shayene “shAy” Victorio is known in Brazil for being the one of country’s top Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players. However, in 2019, she retired from CS:GO to focus on streaming and being an influencer.
That said, she ran a store selling merch, which she started in 2013. And recently, 118 customers have reported to the Public Ministry of the State of Sao Paulo that they never got any of the items they ordered. This has netted her a fraud charge, which comes with a 116-year prison sentence.
That said, due to Brazil’s laws, she will have a chance to appeal, so she is not in any way under arrest. And according to her, she ran the store with her ex-husband back when they were married; specifically, that he is to blame for the missing items. He has, in turn, accepted 100% responsibility for that.
By those same laws, however, it’s unlikely that she’d serve 116 years, even if every appeal failed. Per Brazilian law, any one person can only serve a sentence of 30 years, regardless of crime or timeframe. That said, it’s unlikely that she’ll ever actually wind up in prison, given the particulars of the case.
She was also served a fine of an indeterminate amount. Her ex-husband will be providing for that, too.
