Microsoft Teams Goes Down Due To Unrenewed Certificate

Microsoft Teams

Oh no, the business!

Microsoft Teams went down for roughly 3 hours this morning, entirely due to a security certificate that hadn’t been renewed. That meant that everyone trying to access the service was met with the dreaded HTTP error. The service went down around 9AM EST, and they were able to roll out the fix by 12 noon.

It’s all rather embarrassing for Microsoft, considering that Teams, their Slack competition, was a large part of the recent Windows update. Doubly so considering the commercials they paid for during the NFL Playoffs for it.
